The German organization Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe BiH, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bosnia and Herzegovina, ensured the delivery of equipment to the population affected by floods in the municipalities of Konjic and Jablanica.
With the help of local municipal services, the Civil Protection of Konjic and Jablanica, and the Mountain Rescue Service of Konjic, ten families received packages containing dehumidifiers, generators, washers, and heaters. This aid allows affected families to prevent further damage to their flooded homes and restore living conditions in their homes.
In addition, an industrial oven and kitchenware were donated to the Women’s Association “Most” Jablanica. This equipment will enable the preparation of hot meals for search and rescue teams, Civil Protection members from various parts of the country, and for residents of Jablanica affected by the floods. The donation is of particular importance because many residents, due to power outages or being housed in collective centers, currently do not have access to hot meals.
Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe’s mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina expresses its gratitude to Express Courier d.o.o., the authorized representative for UPS (United Parcel Service) in BiH, which provided free transport of the donated equipment to the targeted locations. Express Courier d.o.o. is a long-standing partner in donations and providing logistical support for various humanitarian actions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, demonstrating a high level of social responsibility.
The equipment donation was realized through the program “Initiative for Household Rehabilitation After Floods: Use of Dehumidifiers, Heaters, and Power Generators for Rapid Recovery,” supported by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in BiH. Teams from Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V. BiH visited the affected areas and personally delivered the equipment.
